Delete your DoctorClub account

This page explains how to delete your DoctorClub account — the app published by DoctorClub — and exactly what happens to your data when you do. You can do it yourself, from inside the app, without contacting anyone.

Delete it from the app

  1. Open DoctorClub and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile → Settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm when asked. The deletion runs immediately.

You are signed out as soon as it completes, and you cannot sign in again with that phone number or Google account.

Before you delete, you may want Settings → Download my data. It gives you everything you have written as a single file. Once the account is deleted, that export is no longer available to you.

Delete it by email

If you can no longer sign in, write to hello@drclub.org from the email address on your account, or with the phone number you signed up with, and ask for deletion. We action it within 30 days.

What is erased

Deleting your account permanently removes, and does not archive:

  • Your name and profile photo
  • Your speciality, qualifications and years of experience
  • Your medical registration number and the registration document you uploaded
  • Your workplace name, work address and home address
  • Your sign-in credentials — the account is disabled and cannot authenticate again

What is kept, and why

Some records survive deletion because other people or obligations depend on them. None of them carry your name after deletion — your account shows as Deleted user everywhere it is referenced.

  • Doctors Care contribution and claim records. Doctors Care is a mutual-aid fund where members contribute real money to each other. A contribution ledger that can be rewritten by one participant leaving is not a ledger, so the amounts and dates stay, detached from your identity.
  • Consent records for Doctors Care. If you enrolled, the record that you consented is retained as the proof of a money obligation you entered into.
  • Moderation and audit history. Reports, verification decisions and administrative actions are retained so decisions about member safety remain accountable and reviewable.
  • The phone number the account signed in with. It is retained so the disabled account cannot be silently re-created, and sign-in with it stays blocked. Ask us at hello@drclub.org if you want it removed as well.
  • Posts, messages and stories you sent to others. A message already delivered to a colleague’s inbox belongs to that conversation too, so it stays there, attributed to a deleted user. Stories expire on their own 24-hour schedule.

Bank details, if you gave them

Bank details are only ever collected from members who enrol in Doctors Care, and they are stored encrypted. If you gave them, email hello@drclub.org after deleting your account and we will erase them, unless a payout to you is still in progress — in which case they are erased once that payout settles.

How long it takes

Deletion from the app is immediate. Retained records as described above are kept for up to 7 years, the period Indian financial and accountability requirements expect of pooled-contribution records, and are then removed. Backups taken before your deletion roll off within 30 days.
